The Craft of Cloud Mining
Exploring the insides of a fossilized cumulonimbus cloud.
The concept of cloud mining alone challenges our conventional understanding of an industry that revolves around the extraction of valuable minerals from the crust of the Earth.
Only in recent years has this singular enterprise persuaded investors to turn their heads away from the clay and look to the sky. With its unique reserves of calcite, carbonates, nimbusite and iridium, cloudrock has surpassed the value of any other mineral on the planet. As an indispensable component for interplanetary infrastructure and a high-energy rocket fuel propellant, cloudrock is a celestial commodity with boundless possibilities.
The ‘Big Diggs’ of Cloud Mining
Three leading companies, all operating under the same CPI (Cloud Mining Protocol), have acquired operational permits to carry out geophysical prospecting on the Cloud — MineCorp, CloudRock and Astra Core. Miners employed by any of these corporations undergo weeks of intensive training in sky mining techniques, safety procedures and advanced technological equipments at MineCloud Camp state-of-the-art facilities. Through the Cloud Miners Program, 47 % of the workforce is recruited from earthbound regions with a dominant mining culture.
Into the heart of the Valley…
Spanning the windswept, arid expanse of its southeast shoulder, is Cloud Mine Valley. An area of 16.4 acres known as The Pit constitutes the main quarry, encircled by a ring of barracks and low-rise structures that form the enclave of Cloudminers Town.
From the upper crust of the rock, cloud gas is pumped into aluminum tanks and hauled to nearby refineries. Deeper below, nestled in the walls of its sponge-like gut, the Cloud’s most sought-after treasures can be found; metals and mineraloids that serve an array of applications across many different industries. Limited to a single airborne mass of fossilized atmospheric dust, extracting these resources is strictly regulated by special Cloud mining protocols that aim to protect this precious sky continent’s continued existence.
In the long-term perspective, cloudrock (classification Nubine) is intended to replace all aging Cloudland infrastructure within the next half-century. The visionary Cloud Fuels of the Future initiative mandates that all ground and aerial vehicles transition to cloud-derived fuels by the end of 2079, underscoring a steadfast commitment to unsustainable energy sources.
The Cloud Miners Program🧨💥⛰🏴
At the start of every quinquennial period, the Cloud Miners Program opens up to new and aspiring applicants eager to learn the craft of the cloud miner. Previous experience in conventional underground mining is preferred, but not a requirement. Preference will be given to applicants at the Everest, Godwin-Austen, Kangchenjunga and Aconcagua CMP basecamp centers. Experienced mountaineers with no previous mining experience are encouraged to apply.
Please keep in mind that all accepted candidates must undergo mandatory quarantine and training at MineCloud Campus. Acclimatization resources are available, including oxytherapy and treatment for acute altitude vertigo.
This is a unique opportunity to train with a champion league of high-altitude miners. Upon successful program completion, chosen recruits will be offered employment at a designated Cloud Mine Valley excavation site with excellent compensation packages.
Next application period: October 29, 2029
